The Town is accepting applications for the position of Town Manager. The Town of Parachute’s next Town Manager is a pro-active, visionary, and solution-oriented leader and a true public servant with a strong work ethic, integrity, and a commitment to ethics and full transparency. He/she is technically capable in all respects, approachable, and highly effective within the council-manager form of government.
The ideal candidate has a long-term vision of the larger community Parachute will become, as well as the experience, energy, and commitment to lead the Town to the culmination of that vision. She/he will already have lead, at least, one community of comparable or larger size. The Town Manager will lead a municipal organization of approximately 18.35 FTE, not counting seasonal employees. Town departments include Town Clerk, Finance, Police, Public Works/Parks, Human Resources, and Community Development. The Town’s 2021 operating budget is $6.2 million. The Town operates twelve (12) funds to include governmental, enterprise, capital, and debt. Minimum requirements: A Bachelor’s Degree in public administration, business administration, finance, or a closely related field. Master’s degree preferred. Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in public administration with four (4) years at a Department Head level. Previous experience at Assistant Town Manager / Town Manager level preferred. Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job. The Town of Parachute is seeking a Police Officer
Job Summary: Protects the lives, safety, health, welfare and property of individuals within the Town limits of Parachute by enforcing municipal, state and federal ordinances, statutes and laws. Incumbents may be assigned to the Patrol Division, Investigations Divisions, and/or any special assignments necessary to protect and serve the needs of individuals relating to law enforcement. The position includes incumbents with full technical and operational capabilities in police science gained through extensive training and experience. Does related work as required.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent. Colorado P.O.S.T certified. Ability to work evenings, weekends, shift work and holidays. Valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR. Must pass background check. Must be willing to submit to drug and alcohol testing.
